A Look at Truly Me

Truly Me, the rebranding of the MAG line, debuted yesterday!  I can't wait to go to the American Girl store in Nashville in TEN DAYS!!! TEN DAYS!!!  I'll take lots of photos of the store, the Truly Me line, me getting Grace Thomas, and lots of other fun.  Let's check out the new Truly Me releases:

The front page looks fun. I like the fact that American Girl went with a more purple theme with Truly Me.  I got a little tired of pink, and purple and red are my favorite colors!

I already planned my visit lol!!!

The dolls now come with a cute activity set that has nearly 50 craft and doll activity ideas!  I am really sad about the news that Innerstar U will be closing down.  Yes, that's right it's going away. I feel really sad for girls who bought $115 dolls that came with a code to make your doll come to life online.  They could have at least come up with a new game or app to go with Truly Me. The dolls could come with a free download code for an app at least!  I don't mean to sound negative, but I don't see much value in the Truly Me dolls anymore.  At least the GOTY and BeForever dolls come with an actual story book!

Great sales going on with the Truly Me debut:  Save $5 when you order a pet, a pet bed, and a collar!  Also, you can save 15% when you order two or more shoes, glasses, purses, etc. You can also save $5 when you buy a Truly Me doll and the Love to Layer accessories.

Isn't this new hammock set adorable?  It include a hammock, a sunvisor, a pillow, and a mini AG magazine.  The picnic set is available separately.

There are three new dolls, including a real Asian doll, which I was very excited about.  The new outfits are cute too.  The in-store exclusives I'll have pictures of soon are the sailboard and the PWP swimsuit set.

More cute pictures!!!

So what do you think?  Do you like Truly Me?  What did you not like about it?  I think I'm more excited for all the activity books to be honest!!!

Nashville Store Grand Opening Details

For those of you who plan to attend the grand opening of the Nashville American Girl store, AG has released detailed information on parking, ticket processes, etc. I wish I could have gotten a reservation that weekend, but I wasn't fast enough!!! I will be going to American Girl Nashville June 1st, so look for pictures of my trip here, and at Living a Dolls Life.

Here is the information:

Happy Birthday Kit!

It's Kit's birthday today!!!  The American Girl Attic Girls wouldn't be quite the same without Kit Kittredge!  Kit's friends threw a party for her.  All those treats look yummy!

Kit poses for a picture with her gifts and her birthday banner in the attic!

Cool fact:  The celebrate banner is from an American Girl craft kit.  I got it with a doll sized cake craft on a AG Saturday event at Michael's Arts and Crafts store.

Here is a look back at fun things I've done with Kit this year on The American Girl Attic Girls blog!

BeForever Bedtime Sale!

It looks like American Girl is gearing up for the August 27th BeForever new item launch.   Rumors have been floating around that the BeForever characters are getting new beds, some new furniture, and pajamas. The photo of Julie's new purple bed and yellow vanity accidentally posted on the website confirmed this.

To prepare for this, American Girl has put the beds and pajamas on sale again!!!  Hurry and take advantage of this sale, because these items WILL retire. Julie's pajamas are SOLD OUT. Luckily I have Kit's bed, Julie's bed, and Rebecca's bed.  I'm not that much into American Girl pajamas, so I may pass on the pjs.   In addition, it appears Ruthie's slippers and Kaya's pow wow dress on on sale.  This sale is in stores too, so head on over to your local AG store!

Sale ends this Sunday. Happy shopping!

Maryellen Larkin Announcement!

American Girl just announced the newest BeForever character on facebook!  Her name will be Maryellen Larkin, and she is a redhead! Yay!  She seems to have green eyes also. Her time era will be 1954, as speculated, and her color theme seems to be aqua and purple.

What do you think of her meet outfit?  I love her shoes, but her outfit seems to be missing something.  In the coming months, we will find out more about her collection, including her accessories.

She is rumored to have a Seaside Diner, and appears to be from a tropical area.  My theory is she either lives in California or Florida, and travels to Hawaii in her second book, which hints at "taking flight."

I can't wait for Maryellen to debut!

Kit's News and Views - May 5, 2015

"Hey guys, it's Kit Kittredge again, reporting in my column Kit's News and Views!  There is tons of doll news to touch on, so let's get started!"

Truly Me is rumored to launch May 21st or 22nd. A few of our wonderful MAGs will be retiring with that release.  It seems that American Girl is retiring the girls with bangs, as they must not be selling as well.  If you want to add MAG # 12, #32, and #38 to your collection I would get them now!

 Photo cred:

With the release of Truly Me, we will also get this new meet.  I love the dress, but I wish the shoes matched better.  Perhaps the Truly Me accessories will match the shoes better. I hope we get a cute turquoise jean jacket.  If that doesn't happen, I will make one myself!

The previous meet is on sale now, including the girl version, so if you absolutely still need more of this outfit...

In rather sad news, it appears Samantha's bicycling outfit is ALREADY retiring.  Her bicycle is staying, but Sam's bike outfit is available as a PWP online exclusive only.  It cost $17 when you buy $50 or more.  Hopefully this will be available in store at some point.  The current in store PWP is Saige's picnic outfit.  Wait, SAIGE'S picnic outfit?  Yep, that's right.  I guess they had LOTS of leftovers, because its been on sale for practically a year now!

I hope everyone is starting to get their accounts straightened out on the ordering websites.  There has been numerous reports on the FB page that people can't log in, their cart won't work, items won't add to cart, password resets aren't showing up in email inboxes and everything imaginable.  I hope American Girl's tech team can get it fixed quickly!  They are working on the bugs, but it will probably be a little while...

Caroline Abbott is officially going to the American Girl archives.  I am really sad about this news, because Caroline has such wonderful stories and a beautiful collection.  I guess her collection didn't have enough pink and the materials were too "expensive" to manufacture.  I think Caroline may have been meant to be a "limited edition" doll to celebrate 200 years since the War of 1812.  Also, there were ridiculous copyright issues in Canada, and since her story takes place near Canada, it would make sense for AG to retire her since they can't get sales there.

To help out with all the retirements, there is a $10 off $100 coupon code for the whole month of May. Plus, take 30% select favorite through May 10th.

Mary Ellen is set to debut the last week of August, in addition to rumors of new beds and accessories for the other Beforever characters (sans Samantha) and Josefina's reboot! Here is a picture of Josefina's Journey book:

You can also preorder Mary Ellen's book here:

With the release of another AA Beforever character in 2016, I feel like Mary Ellen and the 2016 character are replacement for the NOLA girls. LOL

So what are your thoughts?  Are you sad about Caroline retiring?  Are you excited for Truly Me and Mary Ellen?  Let me know in the comments below!
